Groundskeeping
Routine care and maintenance of White Rock Cemetery is critically needed. During the growing season, the central 7-acre portion needs bi-weekly or monthly mowing and string trimming. Throughout the year, trees, shrubs, and vines need pruning, and the grounds need general clean-up.
Vegetation management is a high priority. Regular inspections of vegetation near grave markers is important to prevent future damage and difficult repairs.
Marker Restoration
Restoration of many markers is needed. While some monuments may be stabilized or reset relatively easily by volunteers, experts will be consulted for more complex repairs.
Photography
Volunteers are needed to photograph grave markers in the cemetery, especially when the sunlight makes the inscription most legible. New images can be added to FindAGrave.com.
Research
Most of the interments at White Rock Cemetery, especially those before 1912, remain unknown. Several thousand names and dates are missing from official records. Many can be documented through other sources like death certificates and obituaries.
